Amla Pulp/Puree
Amla, also known as Indian Gooseberry or Phyllanthus Emblica, is obtained from the deciduous tree belonging to the Phyllanthaceae family. Amla is indigenous to the Indian subcontinent, and Amla pulp manufacturers in India extract Amla puree from mature Amla fruit. Amla extract, in the form of Amla pulp or Amla juice concentrate, is used in various food processing industries due to its health benefits.
India is the largest producer of Amla and has the highest area of cultivation. Amla is also grown naturally in different regions worldwide. Uttar Pradesh is the leading Amla producer in India, accounting for 35% of the total share. Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu are the second and third largest producers, contributing 28% and 14%, respectively.
